Born in Appledore Devon by the river Torridge. Went away to study to become a Mathematics Teacher. Moved back to Appledore to his favourite place in the world. Married a local girl Eugenie. Who was his first cousin. Had two children called Tamsin and Fiona.
Retired at 55 whoopie!!
Built his own boat and sailed it for years, won many cups and races. He had all the school holidays off to sail his boat when the tide was in and would aim to do every tide he could unless it was blowing a hulie!
Enjoyed model air craft at the local flying club, built his own places and helicopters, when the tide was out!
Was a brilliant husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, and a great friend to many be you a stranger or not. He would not judge criticise or express any malice in any shape or form. But would purely guide you in a direction that would benefit all involved.
It was a pleasure and an honour to have known this man be it for 5 minutes or for a lifetime.
Sail where you wish Norman the oceans are yours now.
Love and peace to you and when you land on that sunny shore Eugenie will be there waiting, have an ice cream but please make mine a “99”.
Love you.
